Description

Key Responsibilities

• Create and maintain machining files and work instructions for all parts produced.
• Assist in the creation of Verification/Validation Plans.
• Develop tooling and processes for the machining of production items.
• Program, setup, and operate CNC and manual equipment.
• Troubleshoot processes and make CNC program adjustments when necessary. 
• Ensure availability of consumable tooling as needed for machining processes.
• Assist in the development and manufacturing of jigs and fixtures.
• Support process improvement initiatives and continuous improvement teams.
• Understand and follow all departmental SOP’s.
• Document and report any process deviations to team leader and/or manufacturing engineering team leader. 
• Understand and comply with all department safety policies and procedures.
• Assist and support in the training and development of other employees, teams, and sales personnel as necessary.
• Assist and support in DFM initiatives for additive and conventional manufacturing processes.
• Contribute knowledge and experience to capital equipment acquisitions.
• Serve as a liaison between manufacturing production representatives and the manufacturing engineering team to help articulate challenges experienced by the manufacturing teams.
• Collaborate with QA team to help solve production quality challenges through machining and process solutions.
• Know and apply the Quality System and any appropriate Federal and International standards.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

• High School Diploma or GED required. Associate and/or Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution preferred

• Five to seven years experience in a manufacturing environment in the medical device industry.
• Strong experience in CNC machining and programming required.

• Basic understanding of geometric tolerancing.
• Ability to design processes, fixturing, and tooling for the manufacture of components from a print or model
• Familiar with GMP’s, Design control & Lean Manufacturing. FDA PART 820 Quality Systems Regulations experience is required.
• Experience with medical device materials i.e. titanium, cobalt chrome, stainless steel, and UHMWPE.
• Understanding of IQ, OQ, PQ as well as Verification/Validation Plans.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
